โœฆ Synopsis

E HAVE OBSERVED 2 CASES OF A PECULIAR clear cell tumor of the uterus that, to the best of our knowledge, has not been previously described. It is quite possible, however, that the hypernephroma of the uterus described by Lameschz and the granular cell myoblastoma described by Saphir3 are similar to our cases.

In the case of Lamesch,Z the tumor was attached to the fundus of a myomatous uterus. It was gray-white on section and showed waterclear cells microscopically. T h e results of fat and glycogen stains were not reported. One year after the operation, the patient was well. I n our opinion, the hypernephromatous nature of this tumor is unproved.

Saphir3 mentioned a granular cell myoblastoma of the uterus. No clinical, gross, or histological details were given. T h e photomicrograph shows a very indistinct granularity of the cells, making the diagnosis of a granular cell myoblastoma questionable.

Leiomyomas of the uterus generally have a characteristic ultrasound appearance. We present a case of leiomyoma of the broad ligament of the uterus. A 46-year-old woman who had previously undergone a hysterectomy had a pelvic mass with a whorled appearance and acoustic shadowing suggestive of a leiom
