Abstract
The design of circularly polarized (CP) microstrip antenna with harmonics suppression is first proposed. The tapered defected ground structure (TDGS) has been utilized to obtain bandstop characteristics. The measured return losses at the second and third harmonic frequencies are β1.2 and β2.7 dB, respectively. The measured CP axial ratio is 0.8 in the broadside direction at 5.53 GHz. The details of the simulated and experimental results for the proposed design are presented and discussed. Β© 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
