Ten DNA repair (rad) genes from the fission yeast, Schizosaccharomyces pombe were mapped to the 17 NotI fragments of the three chromosomes. Nine of the genes map to chromosome I, but there is no evidence for significant clustering.

The chromosomal sites of woodchuck hepatitis virus (WHV) DNA integration were identified in a woodchuck hepatocellular carcinoma-derived cell line (WH257GE 10) by the in situ hybridization technique using 'H-labelled WHV whole genome (WHV 2) as a probe. The C-banded chromosome spreads from WH257GE 1
Background. Deletion or loss of heterozygosity (LOH) at the polymorphic loci on the short arm of chromosome 3 has been reported in a large number of renal cell, small cell lung, non-small cell lung, and cervical carcinomas, suggesting the presence of one or more putative tumor suppressor genes at ch
## Abstract Cigarette smoking is a major risk factor for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN), but only a fraction of those exposed to cigarette smoke develops SCCHN, suggesting variation in individual susceptibility. Tobacco smoke contains a number of carcinogens that cause various
