Abstract
The DielsโAlder addition polymerization of bispyrone 1 with 2 mol bismaleimide 2 was shown to lead to cyclic polyimides 3 (64%, Mฬ~n~ = 15 000 g/mol) and to cyclic oligomers (36%) applying by gelโpermeation chromatography analysis (GPC) and by means of matrixโassisted laser desorption/ionisation technique (MALDI).

Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization combined with time-of-รight mass spectrometry (MALDI/TOF-MS) was used for the analysis of low molecular mass compounds. Three classes of molecules were studied : organic acids, salts of oxyanions and amine-based chelating compounds. Mass spectra from sampl
