✦ Synopsis

The crystal structure of the title compound, CuCl(C~12~H~8~N~2~)~2~·3H~2~O, contains Cu^II^ cations five-coordinated by one chloride anion and four N atoms of two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. Between the the 4-aminobenzenesulfonate anions and the uncoordinated water molecules intermolecular hydrogen bonding is found.
