**The discovery of two new titanium halides** came as a surprise. The isotypic compounds Ti~7~Cl~16~ and Ti~7~Br~16~ are produced by chemical transport (__via__ gaseous complexes); X‐ray analysis shows them to contain TiTi bonds.
