✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Synthesis and conformational analysis of diastereomeric acetals 4–7 of aromatic cyanohydrins and structurally related compounds are described. Based on ^1^H‐NMR spectroscopic and X‐ray data it is shown that the absolute configuration of such compounds can be assigned according to a method, which has been presented previously for secondary arylalkyl alcohols.
