154 commercially available natural mineral waters were analysed for their content of dissolved manganese (Mn(I1)). 114 bottles were marked "deironized" (geogenic iron removed). Unexpectedly, waters rich in mangenese were more frequent among the deironized waters than among the non-deironized ones. A
