โฆ Synopsis
The new title compound is prepared from a mixture of CuO and Rh2O3 in a Bi2O3/V2O5 (3:1) flux (Pt crucible, 1373 K, 10 h). The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD) and exhibits an unknown channel structure containing undulating layers of RhO6 octahedra sharing corners and edges. The channels contain Bi 3+ , Cu 2+ , and some O atoms strongly bound to Cu which exhibits distorted square planar coordination. Mixed Rh 3+ /Rh 4+ valency leads to significant elec-
