Ultrasound Accelerated Coupling Reaction of Grignard Reagents with 1,3-Dioxolanes of α,β-Unsaturated Aldehydes.

-Allylic ethers are obtained in high yields by coupling of 1,3-dioxolanes of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes with Grignard reagents under mild conditions. The reaction, which is enhanced by ultrasound irradiation, leads to excellent regioselectivities. The cis-isomers of (IV) are also formed in minor amounts. -(LU, T.-
