✦ Synopsis

The Hexacyanotitanate Ion: Synthesis and Crystal Structure of (NEt4)3( TiIII(CN)6)•4MeCN.

-Pale orange single crystals of the title salt (III), which on drying in vacuum turned into a yellow powder, are prepared. They adopt the monoclinic space group I2/a with Z = 4 as shown by the single crystal XRD data. The (Ti(CN)3-6) anion exhibits almost ideal octahedral geometry. The presence of a hexacyanotitanate(III) anion in (III) is also confirmed by the magnetic and spectroscopic data. -(ENTLEY, W. R.;
