β¦ Synopsis
The Effect of Mechanical Milling on the Structure and Magnetic Properties of Fe2Sc Laves Phase.
-Structural and magnetic changes induced by mechanical milling (MM) in Fe2Sc of C14 Laves phase structure are followed by powder XRD, magnetic measurements, and Moessbauer spectroscopy. MM induces partial chemical disorder followed by amorphization which both cause an increase in the magnetic moments of Fe. The ball-milled amorphous alloy shows ferromagnetic behavior and a reduction of the Curie temp. to 250 K as compared to 540 K of the C14 Laves phase. -(XIA,
