An Expedient Synthesis of β-Chloro-β-nitroolefin Derivatives. -The title compounds (II) are prepared by chlorination of nitroolefins ( I) with HCl/DMF/Oxone system. Concerning the mechanism of the reaction addition of HOCl, generated from HCl and Oxone, to (I) followed by dehydration is proposed. -
