✦ Synopsis
Synthesis of Some 5'-Thiopentofuranosylpyrimidines as Potential Antitumor Agents.
-The synthesis of 5'-sulfur-substituted thymidine analogues is achieved by nucleophilic displacement of the 5-chloro derivative (II) and subsequent oxidations and catalytic hydrogenations. None of these compounds show inhibition of L1210 cells proliferation except (IVb) which is weakly active.
