Synthesis of Polysubstituted Pyrrolizidines from Proline Derivatives and Conjugated Nitroolefins.

-The stereochemistry of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of azomethine ylides, derived from aromatic aldehydes and L-proline alkyl esters, with several nitroolefins is investigated. Whereas with (E)-isomers of the nitroolefins the reactions proceed with high diastereoselectivity, the reactions with (Z)-isomers are neither regio-nor diastereoselective. -(FELLUGA, F.;
