✦ Synopsis

Synthesis of Polycyclic 1,2-Dioxanes from Endoperoxides. -Freshly prepared endoperoxides such as (I) undergo a Tms-O-Tf-catalyzed reaction with olefins (II) to give the 1,2-dioxane (III), albeit in low yield. However, the endoperoxide (IV) derived from 1,4-dimethylnaphthalene provides far more promising results.
