Synthesis of Nα-Benzyloxycarbonyl-L-histidine Hydrazide: An Undesired Side-Product. -An undisired side-product (II) is formed during the crystallization of Z-His-NH-NH2 (I). It is recommended to avoid crystallization of (I) from water and only wash the crude product with ethanol unstead.
