Synthesis of N-Benzylhomo-(-)-anisomycin.

-The title compound (VII), an analogue of the antibiotic anisomycin, is prepared starting from allylic amide (I) by ozonolysis followed by opening of the epoxide with Grignard reagent. The resulting alcohol (III) is reduced to (IV) with Et 3 SiH. Several deprotection steps give (VII). -(KIM, G.;
