Reaction Behavior of Ξ²-Oxo Carbonic Acid Derivatives of the Anthracene Series in Thiophene Synthesis. -The use of Ξ²-oxo-1-(I) and Ξ²-oxo-9-anthracenepropionates ( VI) as building blocks in the synthesis of thiophenes is described.
