Synthesis of Carbocycles by Insertion of 1,1-Dihalo-1-lithio Species into Zirconacycles.

-Selected halogenocarbenoids insert into a zirconacyclopentane to produce the related five-membered carbocyclic rings [cf. (III)] via sequential 1,2-metalate and diotropic rearrangements.
