Abstract

Twentythree chromenopyridines, substituted at the 2‐ and 4‐position with 5‐or 6‐membered heteroaromatics, are synthesized by treatment of pyridinium iodide salts (III) with chromanones (IV) utilizing a modified Kroehnke synthesis.
