✦ Synopsis

Synthesis of 2-Oxiranyl and Aziridinyl Thiazoles.

-Lithiation of thiazoles (I) and (XVI) and subsequent reaction of the resulting 2-lithiothiazole intermediates with Ξ±-halogenocarbonyl compounds or Ξ±-halogenoimines provides a convenient access to 2-oxiranyl and aziridinyl thiazoles. However, no successful reaction is possible with 2-chlorocyclohexanone as the substrate. -
