Synthesis and Phototoxic Property of Tetra-and Octa-Glycoconjugated Tetraphenylchlorins.

-The title compounds such as (I) are prepared via a diimine reduction of the peracetylated sugar porphyrin derivatives with subsequent deprotection. The physicochemical properties of these compounds are examined and the usefulness for a photodynamic therapy is discussed.
