โœฆ Synopsis

Synthesis and Characterization of Gallosilicate Halide Sodalites Using Organic

Solvent. -The sodalites Na8[GaSiO4]6(X)2 (X: Cl, Br, I) are synthesized by a new single step hydrothermal method from Ga2O3, SiO2, NaOH, and NaX in 30% aq. EtOH (autoclave, pH 12.5, 373 K, 7 d). The isotypic compounds crystallize in the cubic space group P43n with Z = 1 (powder XRD) and exhibit alternating Ga and Si ordering of the sodalite framework. The sodalites are further characterized by IR spectroscopy, 29 Si and 23

2 (I) and Na 8 [AlGeO 4 ] 6 X 2 (II) (X: Cl, Br, I) is achieved in a LiNO 3 melt at 240 โ€ข C. The neutron diffraction results show that the framework collapse associated with the Li exchange is accomodated by cooperative rotation about the 4 axis and a decrease in the framework Ga-O-Si (Al-O-Ge) bond
