Synthesis Structure and Mesomorphism of 2,5-Disubstituted 1,3-Dioxanes. -The trans-configurated title compounds of type (III) are isolated from 3:1 mixtures of trans/cis isomers. The mesomorphous properties of (III) depend on the existence of halogen atoms in Ξ±-position to the carbonyl group and th
