β¦ Synopsis
Synthesis and Anticonvulsant Activities of (R)-(O)-Methylserine
Derivatives.
-Derivatives (VI), (IX), and (XII) are prepared starting from (R)-serine derivative (I). The mixed anhydride coupling procedure leading to compound (III) proceeds stereospecifically, whereas the methylation of alcohol (I) and the hydrolysis of esters (VII) and (XI) is accompanied by partial racemization yielding the products with only 70% e.e.. Compound (VI) exhibits modest anticonvulsant activity. -(ANDURKAR, SHRIDHAR V.;

Acetylenic derivatives of quinazolinones and quinazolinediones were synthesized and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity. Most compounds displayed seizure-antagonizing activity in the maximal electroschock test (MES test) in most cases associated with little or no acute neurotoxicity determin
