The Fe0 Promoted Addition of CCl4 and CCl3Br to Olefins. -In continuation of the work towards the alkylation of alkenes, it is shown that the previously reported reagent iron filings in DMF also promotes the Kharasch addition of CCl4 or BrCCl3 to olefins such as (I) , (IV), and (VII) in good yields
