Sparteine-Mediated Stereoselective Intramolecular Carbolithiation of Alkynes.

-Asymmetric deprotonation of the chiral 4-substituted 5-hexynyl carbamates (I) by sBuLi/(-)-sparteine and subsequent regioselective 5-exo-dig cyclization of the intermediate enantioenriched carbanionic pairs yields the five-membered rings (II)/(III) with complete stereoselectivity. -
