โฆ Synopsis
Solvothermal Synthesis of a Bimetallic Thiometallate Containing Germanium in Two Oxidation States. -Single crystals of the new compound [Ge(en)3][GeSb2S6] are prepared by solvothermal reaction of GeO2, Sb2S3, and sulfur in ethylenediamine (autoclave, 463 K, 6 d, 80% yield). The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with Z = 8 (single crystal XRD). The structure consists of cyclic [GeSb 2 S 8 ] 6-units forming chains that are cross-linked through Sb 2 S 2 rings to generate [GeSb2S6] 2-layers, between which [Ge(en)3] 2+ cations are located. The compound contains germanium in both the divalent and tetravalent state. -(POWELL*, A. V.;
