✦ Synopsis

Solvent-Dependent Photochemical Rearrangements of Ethers of Styrylheterocycles.

-Direct photolysis of a series of styryl derivatives in wet dichloromethane results in rearrangement to benzoheterocycles of type (II). Similar photolysis in dry benzene provides the related enol ethers. The results open a novel route for the transformation of styrylheterocycles to highly functionalized benzoheterocycles.
