β¦ Synopsis
Size Quantization in Electrodeposited CdTe Nanocrystalline Films.
-Nanocrystalline CdTe films electrodeposited in the potential range -1100 to -1400 mV from DMSO solutions of tri-(n-butyl)phosphine telluride and Cd(ClO4)2 at 100 β’ C contain a 5-10% excess of Te and a crystal size of β 8 nm but a large size distribution. By use of reverse pulse plating stoichiometric films with 4-7 nm average particle size and a bandgap of up to 0.8 eV are obtained by varying the pulse parameters. Both films show P incorporation and blue spectral shifts correlating with the crystal size. This phenomenon is explained by size quantization. -(MASTAI, Y.; HODES, G.;
