Siloxanes as Precursors of Silanones.

-The pyrolysis of hexamethyldisiloxane (I) and its copyrolysis with trimethylchlorosilane as well as with tetrachlorosilane is studied. It is shown that the disiloxane (I) forms in situ dimethylsilanone which is introduced into the Si-O bond of a further disiloxane molecule affording a mixture of di-and tetrasiloxanes. In the presence of trimethylsilylchloride insertion of the silanone into the Si-Cl bond is also observed. -(CHERNYSHEV, E. A.
