Selective Reduction of Secondary Amides to Amines in the Presence of Tertiary Amides.

-The transformation is achieved by reduction of secondary amide moieties bearing an activating Cbz group with hydrides. Catalytic hydrogenation of the resulting hemiacetals removes the hydroxyl and the Cbz group to produce the corresponding amine without affecting the tertiary amides. -(LEE,
