## Abstract The partial synthesis of oosponol (4), which shows significant antibiotic activity, has been accomplished by enzyme catalyzed reactions including regioselective acetylation of (โˆ’)โ€oospoglycol (1) followed by an oxidation step and hydrolysis by a lipase.
