of the Synthesis of (2R,3R) 2,3-(Cyclohexylidenedioxy)-4-cyclopentenone as Possible Building Block for the Synthesis of Carbocyclic Nucleosides.

-An in depth study of the four-step synthesis of the title compound ( VIII) is described. The reactions are reinvestigated, by-products are adequately identified and the structures of (III), (IV), (VI), and ( VIII) are proven by detailed NMR spectroscopy. It is concluded that the overall yield in the literature (65%) is overestimated.
