Reaction of 5-Aminopyrazoles with β-Dimethylaminopropiophenones. Synthesis of New Pyrazolo [3,4-b]pyridines.
-Reaction of 5aminopyrazoles (I) with β-aminopropiophenones (II) provides a new and simple synthetic entry into the pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine ring system. Oxidation of the dihydro-products (III) with NBS gives the completely aromatized compounds of type (IV). The reaction mechanism of the product formation is discussed.
