## Abstract Nanocrystalline Mg~2~FeH~6~ is synthesized by ball milling of 3:1 mixtures of Mg and Fe powders under a hydrogen pressure of 5.5 bar at room temperature for 110 h.
## Preparation of the Hydrides Mg2FeH6 and Mg2CoH5 by Mechanical Alloying Followed by Sintering. -The production of Mg2FeH6 by the title process is significantly enhanced by milling of 2:1 Mg-Fe powder mixtures under H2 atmosphere followed by sintering at 623 K for 1 day under 50 bar H2 pressure.
