Oxidation of Aliphatic Amines by Aqueous Chlorine.

-A mechanistic study is done. The elementary step is the transfer of chlorine from the hypochlorous acid molecule to the nitrogen of the amino group. For primary and secondary amines H 2 O molecules are involved in the transition states.
