New Phases in the System LiMnVO 4 -Mn 3 (VO 4 ) 2 . -The low temperature phase of orthorhombic Mn3(VO4)2 (space group Cmca) is synthesized from stoichiometric amounts of MnO and V2O5 (flowing Ar, 800 °C, 15 h). The new high temperature modification of the compound is obtained by heating the low temperature phase at 950 °C for 15 h. The new phase is isostructural to Co1.5AsO4 and Mg1.5AsO4 and crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I42d. Substitution of Mn 2+ for two Li + favors the formation of tetragonal LixMn1.5-x/2VO4 for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.2. -(CLEMENS, O.; HABERKORN, R.;
