✦ Synopsis
Phase Equilibria in the Li 3 TaO 4 -LaTaO 4 System. -Phase equilibria studies on the title system in the temperature range 1000-1500 • C result in the detection of the new ternary compound Li 3 LaTa 2 O 8 . The optimal temperature for the synthesis of this oxide is 1200 • C. Analogues compounds with other lanthanide atoms such as La, Nd, Sm, and Gd can be obtained similarly.
