## Abstract A novel chelated ferroceneโ€based planar chiral Nโ€heterocyclic carbeneโ€Rh(I) complex was synthesized by a simple method. It was applied to the asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of prochiral ketones. Enantioselectivities of up to 67% ee were observed. Copyright ยฉ 2009 John Wiley & Sons, L
