-The title compounds are prepared by reaction of M3N2 (M: Mg , Ca) with P3N5 at 800 β’ C (N2 atmosphere, 7 and 14 d, respectively). Mg2PN3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Cmc21, Z = 4, and Ca2PN3 in space group Cmca, Z = 8 (powder XRD). Both compounds contain chains of corner-sharing PN4 tetrahedra; however, the chains significantly differ in their stretching factor. -(SCHULTZ-COULON,
