Reaction of AgOCN with NO, NO2, ClNO2, ClNO, and BrNO: Evidence of the Formation of OCN-NO2 and OCN-NO. -The reactions of title are studied by gas phase IR spectroscopy. The decomposition products observed in the reactions of AgOCN with NO2 and with ClNO2 are compatible with the formation of an inte

β¦ Synopsis
Heterogeneous Interconversion Reactions of BrNO 2 , ClNO 2 , Br 2 and Cl 2 .
-The activation energy E A = 89 kJ/mol for the unimolecular decay of BrNO 2 at atmospheric pressure is estimated from the measurement of the temperature-dependent lifetime. The reactive uptake of BrNO 2 and ClNO 2 on water and aqueous solutions is determined. The reactions Br 2 + NO -2 β BrNO 2 + Br -, Cl 2 + NO -2 β ClNO 2 + Cl -and ClNO 2 + Br - β BrNO 2 + Cl -are observed. Formation and loss of BrNO 2 on salt solutions can be investigated as a model substrate for atmospheric sea salt aerosols. -
