✦ Synopsis

Efficient, Ecologically Benign, Aerobic Oxidation of Alcohols.

-Under optimized conditions, using oxygen as stoichiometric oxidant and catalytic amounts of CuCl(phen) and either hydrazines or azo compounds, various alcohols are oxidized to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones in good yields. The catalysts tolerate a variety of functionalities and with catalyst additives DBH or DBA even primary and secondary aliphatic alcohols are oxidized. -(MARKO, ISTVAN E.;
