## Abstract A quadridentate Schiff base ligand of __N,Nβ€²__‐bis(2‐hydroxy‐__α‐__methylbenzylidene)ethylenediamine (HMBEDA) and its new iron(III) complex were synthesized and identified by analytical, spectral data (^1^H NMR, ^13^C NMR FT‐IR and UV‐visible) and molar conductance. A rapid and efficie
