✦ Synopsis

Biocatalysis of Deracemization in 1,2-Diols.

-Potential racemic precursors to optically active indan-1,2-diol as a synthetically important synthon are tested as substrates of C. cassiicola. The process involves enantioconvergent stereoinversions in which the recovered enantiomer is not a substrate for the dehydrogenase enzymes involved.
