Antitumor Agents. Part 181. Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of 6,7,2',3',4'-Substituted-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-phenyl-4-quinolones as a New Class of Antimitotic Antitumor Agents.
-Some of the most active compounds are (IVd) and (VI) showing strong cytotoxic effects with very low ED 50 . Three active racemates, e.g. (IVc), are separated into the enantiomers. The (-)-enantiomers exhibit greater biological activity than the racemates or (+)-isomers.
