✦ Synopsis

Acidities of Stable Simple Enols and Bond Dissociation Enthalpies of Their H-O Bonds in DMSO.

-The values of acidity and bond dissociation enthalpy of enols (I) are discussed in terms of steric and electronic effects. For the 1,1-dimesityl derivatives the pKHA values increase with the bulk of the R3 substituent. The oxidation potentials of their anions in DMSO are also determined.
