โฆ Synopsis
Absorption and Luminescence Spectroscopy of MnO2-4-Doped Crystals of BaSO4.
-The first polarized absorption and luminescence spectra of Mn-doped BaSO4 containing essentially MnO2-4 are reported. The simultaneous formation of MnO3-4, responsible for erroneous assignments of the absorption spectrum, is avoided by growing the BaSO4:Mn6+ crystals below 620 โข C in a NaCl/KCl/CsCl flux. The luminescence of BaSO4: Mn6+ extends from 11000 to about 6500 cm-1; an extremely broad range in a very interesting region for possible laser applications. -(BRUNOLD, T.
