A Potassium Sodium Double Salt of Metavanadate, KNa(VO 3 ) 2 .

-The title compound is prepared hydrothermally from Na 2 B 4 O 7 , NaVO 3 , and KH 2 PO 4 (H 2 O, 383 K, 3 d; 40% yield). KNa(VO 3 ) 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c, Z = 4 (pyroxene type). The structure consists of chains of corner-sharing VO 4 tetrahedra which are crosslinked through NaO 6 octahedra and KO 8 dodecahedra.
